Calamari, blackened fish tacos, crab cakes, asparagus and the fish of the day (flounder) were all great. Excellent tarter sauce. The cocktail sauce is pretty sweet. The salsa with the tacos is spicy and good. I wish I would have taken pics because the plates looked so nice. Our server was super friendly and she encouraged the crab cake which I was very happy with.

Crowded most of the time. Our server was not pleasant. Food was good and had a good amount of quantity.

The atmosphere is amazing. The wait staff is generous and kind. The food is divine. The price is worth it for the amount and taste!

Nice saloon and restaurant. The McGarvey's has two bars and a special oyster bar, where you can sit on. The interior is very cool and really looks like an Irish Pub should. The waitress was very attentive. You can order any kind of US beer (it seemed) and typical seafood or beef. The soups are very good. Order salad by menu or customize your salad.

We came from KCMO on a vacation for 5 days. We ate here twice. The first time we came the food and service was absolutely wonderful! The crab soup was awesome. The oysters were delicious! We got the special on them the $.50 each. The second time we came my shrimp and grits had a piece of plastic in it. I let the server know just to give them a heads up. The manager came over and asked if I wanted another one. I obviously didn't want the same because I was afraid it would happen again. I had only had a few bites. It was delicious what I had of it though. They ended up giving us a drink. Better than nothing, but normally you would take off that meal or maybe discount it at least. I also had the crab soup and noticed second night it had lots of shells in it. The house brew is really good and house shandy is delicious.

Great place great food great service. Need I say more. The oysters were fresh, huge , and ice cold. Wish I lived closer. Anytime I come back to Maryland this will be the Place I go.

Nice spot for some good beers and seafood. The food is pretty decent for pub food. Tasty and perfect mix for the beers.

This place is supppper cool. They have a TREE in the restaurant. That is amazing. The waiter was nice (Didn't catch his name, but you know who you are if you are reading this review) was really nice and helpful. The Stuffed Shrimp was really great. Shrimp with crab? Yes please, Wrapped in BACON? Oh yes. I didn't get it, but i stole some from my grandma, and it was really great. Fish and chips were also really flavorful and good. Decor, was also, amazing because THERE IS A TREE IN THE RESTAURANT. It is also much larger than you think it is. When I first came, it was PACKED in the front room, and I thought 'We're never gonna get a table." But then, they had a whole other room, which was really great.

Outstanding service; one of the best we've seen in Annapolis. Great atmosphere: bright and airy in the rear bar/dining room, cozy in the front area, and upstairs. Reasonable prices for downtown Naptown during Happy Hour: we had delicious crab pretzel, 6 of the $1 each Chesapeake Bay Oysters, 1/2 pound of properly cooked steamed Shrimp, one IPA beer, and one iced tea, all for less then $30.Didn't like climbing the stairs to get to the somewhat smelly bathroom.NOTE: This place is usually packed on Fri and Sat nights.Clientele is a bit more mature and upscale than most of the other bar/restaurants in NaptownFood was delicious and our waitress refilled our drinks without asking. She was dedicated to seeing everything was perfect. Bottom line: you can't go wrong with McGarveys during Happy Hour, and probably never on a weekday even for dinner.

Before a Navy basketball game, we had dinner at McGarvey's sitting at a table in the front bar room. Classic, cozy bar where patrons were talking and having fun, and half the people seemed to know the bartender. At least that evening, this was an authentic "neighborhood bar". Yes, I had a couple pints of the Aviator Lager (good) and I had an enormous bacon bbq burger. It all seemed made to order, the burger was hand-formed and bacon was big and just cooked. We will definitely be back!

Went to the boat parade and was able to get seated and served quickly. The food was excellent. Ordered steamed shrimp and the cream of crab soup. Delicious. Highly recommend. The others in my party ordered crab cakes, stuffed shrimp and salmon. They enjoyed their meals. Best seafood.
